Press Esc to cancel the current input

This feature wasn't available before, but after seeing a lot of user feedback, you added it.

I’m now strongly requesting that you allow me to turn this off, or change it to a double-tap on the Esc key. Here’s why:

For me, the biggest advantage of Lightning over other competing products is that while I’m using voice input, I can freely switch to other apps, type, or perform any other action without interrupting my current input.I usually engage in long sessions of voice input, speaking as I think, while simultaneously referencing various materials and doing other tasks. I want to ensure that, aside from the activation shortcut I’ve specifically set up, no other actions affect my voice input.

However, the current “Esc” cancellation feature causes my voice input to be lost whenever I’m recording while using other apps—such as Codex or Claude—and I need to interrupt, pause, or go back in a conversation.

By that point, I might have been speaking for a minute or two, finally managing to explain something clearly—only to have it accidentally lost. It’s really frustrating.

The Esc key is a very common operation in Vibe Coding. This design directly prevents me from carrying out my workflow of speaking while doing other things.

Unless you believe that when people speak, they should only be speaking. And that would mean Lightning Speak would lose its one irreplaceable advantage over other voice input methods.

In Vibe Coding scenarios, multitasking and handling multiple sessions simultaneously are very common. I hope you’ll take this request seriously. Thank you!
